The Perks of Having a Dog

We adopted a second dog at the end of July.  She was found as a stray in Santa Cruz, so her past is somewhat of a mystery: we weren’t sure of her age (though I tried to do some supersleuthing and discovered that even though her microchip wasn’t registered to anyone, it was sold in 2008 to a vet hospital that didn’t have any records for the dog, so we figured she’s the same age as Dog), but she was likely well taken care of at some point, because not only was she overweight, she knew all commands, including “shake hands.”  Plus she’s really cuddly.

At first, she was super shy around strangers, especially men.  She was very skittish on walks, especially whenever we took a new route.  After a few weeks, she started coming out of her shell.

Basically, she’s been wreaking havoc on our lives ever since.

I finally began a simple tumblr so I could see the humor in our newfound situation.  It’s like laughing at those parenting blogs that document the incredibly silly things that cause children to have nuclear meltdowns.. but this time it’s all happening to my husband and me.

So, please visit for new posts (which will likely be more frequent than I post here, because that’s how many things she destroys on a weekly basis), and as always, thank you for reading 🙂  Happy New Year!
